Florida Home Partnership is making a positive impact to contribute to the much needed inventory of affordable rental properties. Tuesday, March 13, 2012, Florida Home Partnership, celebrated its first apartment building acquisition through HUD’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). Administered by Hillsborough County’s Affordable Housing Services, NSP is part of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 which addresses abandoned and foreclosed properties in an effort to remove blight from neighborhoods; and invest funds in the community.

Renamed Friendship Village Apartments, Florida Home Partnership renovated this apartment building to expand upon its mission to offer safe, decent and affordable housing for low to moderate income residents. Beautifully renovated, the 4-unit Friendship Village Apartment building is located at 1213 E. 127th Avenue, Tampa, FL in the University Area.

Fenced-in and energy-efficient, the building features four apartments with approximately 765 square feet of comfortable living spaces and private parking for residents and guests. Each building has two bedrooms, commercial grade carpeting; with new bathroom fixtures as well as re-tiled kitchens and brand new appliances (including washers, dryers, microwaves, stoves and refrigerators). Each unit is equipped with separate storage spaces, and down stairs units are designed with full and partially handicap accessible accommodations for kitchen and bathrooms. The two upstairs apartments feature vaulted ceilings and illuminating sky lights. Attractive French Doors open up to the comfortable balconies and patios for residents to enjoy the Florida-friendly courtyard.

Expanding upon the apartment building is Friendship Village II. Located across from Friendship Village I, Friendship Village II offers a charming community of three triplex apartments. The nine apartments offer ground-floor entry to one and two bedroom accommodations. A serving counter separates an accommodating kitchen and modest living room, the sliding glass door opens to a Florida-friendly back yard, landscaping also features an inviting grill and picnic area, and the round-about provides easy access to ample front door parking.

FHP may also be able to accommodate renters seeking single family homes to rent.
